I received the book that I read over the WE
it is a nice recollection of personal anecdotes that paint a good picture of jewish life in the Congo. It would probably take an "outsider" who has never been to the Congo to tell us if in fact the book is good or not as they would have to rely only on this book to get a mental picture.
My only personal regret is that although my family's business is often referred to (Amato Freres) , there is actually no mention of the individuals. I guess I share the same regret with many people who lived there and are not mentioned.
All together, I am glad that somebody put on paper these images of the past.
